Caught in a Flash Flood of Sunshine in Hell Hole: Not a place to be when It rains…

We stay out of slot canyons when rain is in the forecast, for obvious reasons. But what about when the Weather Guessers get it wrong, like on the day this family got caught in Little Wild Horse and captured this flash flood Video? Good thing it was a "light rain."

Here's what it looked like in Hellhole during this Flash flood video In this southwest Utah flash flood video you can see the debris flow that usually precedes the flood. And finally, a Lower Antelope Canyon flash flood video just to keep you aware and hopefully safe.

  2. I don't think many people really understand the power of even a little rain. I know I don't. It is hard to believe that even a light rain can gather momentum and cause such devastation. We will be in Zion over the Thanksgiving weekend and are looking forward to hitting the trails!

  9. Those videos are frightening!! So was Suzanne able to boost Bobbie up that dry fall? I sure don't remember anything like that when we hiked with you guys in Hell Hole Canyon, but then maybe it was beyond where I got stuck :-)

  10. Actually, we did go up a different spur of the canyon, to the west. :)
