Humping Jane Doe

I've been to a mountain with a view that's insane,
It felt good to be out of the rain
On the mountain I can't remember her name
But there ain't no one for to give me no pain
La la la la la la la......


So we're looking to climb a mountain, preferably a13er. We've hiked right by this rock a half dozen times, each of which my hiking partner says, We need to climb that.

My Bobbie App® can't remember her name and she's not labeled on our map, so I dub her Jane Doe, sister of John. Jane looks to be a bitch, as there is a steep slab of snow in her approach couloir.

We squeeze around the snow on dry ground, but it's littered with little marbles that has us spinning out. I wonder if golf spikes would help, or maybe Yak Tracks. We have neither so end up using hands and hiking poles. Going down might require using butt-anchors.

After a false top-out or two, we climb aboard Jane's broad summit... ok, shouldn't call her a "broad." How about "expansive?"  Anyway, you could play Frisbee up there. 

Clouds began rolling in; nothing threatening, just enough to block the sun and chill us down. Now a few photos along the way up and down Jane Doe. 

Getting ready to head out again this morning... not sure where.

Can't run this ridge without ropes...

A couple summers ago we climbed that connecting ridge between the two peaks with "Too Simplify" Glenn, "Take To The Highway" Suzanne, and "Little Adventurer" Gayle...well, she almost made it :). Next time...

When I saw this boulder I just had to go take a closer look... What the hell is holding it in place?

I could have sent it bounding off the mountain with my little finger!!! Yes, the "little boy" in me was tempted...but he didn't.
