I was out in your mountains that day, doing a long point-to-point mountain bike ride. It was glorious but I've never consumed so much water during a 11.000+ foot bike ride before in my life! However I love your mountains so very much. As we rode through Ouray, I wondered where real people live (daydreaming). The town looked very compact!KBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16885661679762446456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4134981800236544647.post-46620542391744663472017-09-07T22:54:32.274-06:002017-09-07T22:54:32.274-06:00Nothing worse than a hot, humid hike on tired legs...Nothing worse than a hot, humid hike on tired legs!! Hiking in the heat is my least favorite activity. I'll take snow thanks. Hope the peaches and beer were as excellent as your fantasy.Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00328866430156879312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4134981800236544647.post-67248993615110761412017-09-05T14:53:11.970-06:002017-09-05T14:53:11.970-06:00Mother of God....that hurt in the reading of it, h...Mother of God....that hurt in the reading of it, had to keep checking the Blog I D to see if I was reading some blog about spaced out Burning Man seekers who were looking for the Black Rock Desert.
But beer & peaches? The best.

When I was 17 years old, I scrawled that saying with a Sharpie on the inside wall of the aluminum shelter on top of Mount Timapanogos: "Climbing a mountain is like hitting yourself with a hammer. It only feels good when you stop."

*Mostly* I disagree now. I love the sensation of being out on the move. And if you go long enough, everything actually feels worse when you stop. ;-)Jill Homerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02983065990450931943noreply@blogger.com
